Magic Leap, Inc. is currently seeking a motivated Director of Human Factors to manage our Human Factors program. The program includes: human subject testing; advanced experimental design; user task analysis; functional analysis; consumer preference assessment; anthropometric, biomechanical, vision, temperature and audio measurement; sample-based digital human modeling; and data visualization tool development. The measuring tools used include: 3D anthropometric scanners, FaroTM 3D product scanners, manual anthropometry tools, Infrared (IR) and other thermometers, EMG devices, qualitative fit questionnaires and other tools as needed. Analyses are done by Human Factors team members using SPSS™ or SAS/JMP™, VoltusTM, Polyworks™, MatLabTM and various CAD tools. Testing is done both on-site and off-site. There are many different product types as well as systems of products that will need to be tested to ensure the best fit, function and user preferences at an affordable cost. The director will also contribute to database development and data re-analysis for follow-on product design.
The Director of Human Factors will be responsible for leading a team of employees and working with designers, engineers, program managers and product developers to identify the human test and evaluation needs, design the experiments, develop the test protocols, carry out the experiments, analyze the results, communicate the results and make recommendations for product improvement. The director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining anthropometry and fit databases and tools for use by other Magic Leap departments for target market size and configuration prediction, and web-based tools for consumer interaction. Additional responsibilities include: 1) proposing and managing the budget, 2) staying on top of the latest developments in the field, and 3) building, supervising and growing an effective Human Factors team.
